Where Should a Mezuzah Be Placed?
The mezuzah should be attached to the right side of the doorway as you enter the room or home.
It should be positioned in the upper third of the doorpost, slightly tilted inward (according to the Ashkenazi custom) or placed vertically (according to many Sephardic customs). The mezuzah should be securely attached to the doorframe.
The Blessing Before Hanging a Mezuzah
Before attaching the mezuzah, recite the following blessing:

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה’ אֱלֹקֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם, אֲשֶׁר קִדְּשָׁנוּ בְּמִצְוֹתָיו וְצִוָּנוּ לִקְבּוֹעַ מְזוּזָה.
Transliteration
Baruch Atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech Ha’olam, Asher Kid’shanu B’mitzvotav V’tzivanu Likboa Mezuzah.
Translation
Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to affix a mezuzah.
If you are installing several mezuzot at the same time, one blessing is generally recited before hanging the first mezuzah, provided you continue without interruption.
